Southern Fried Queer Pride is challenging YOU to help us raise $1,000 by Tuesday, November 29th! That Tuesday is #GivingTuesday, a day dedicated to fundraising for non-profit and community groups. Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday’s goal is to funnel funds into organizations who put in the work and benefit the community! $1,000 means a lot to us as a grassroots, community organized and funded collective and organization.
Southern Fried Queer Pride (SFQP) is a queer and trans collective and organization based out of Atlanta, GA. We're dedicated to uplifting the Southern queer and trans community - our art, our politics, and our existence. Being grassroots and anti-corporation, every dollar counts! All profit we make funnels back into programming and events. We encourage all to donate! Want to know what that $1,000 goes towards?
- Making sure all artists, performers, and service providers are paid!
- Paying the venues that host our events!
- To expand programming and outreach to reach as many communities of the spectrum! We aim to create monthly events and engagments for 2017 - something we're calling our "queerriculum".
- Providing more resources to the communities we serve for FREE (HIV and STI testing, transgender/non-binary/gender non-conforming resources and information, making sure all venues are as ADA accessible as possible, and more!)
- And so much more!
We encourage people to donate on a multitude of levels - individual, collective, organizational, etc.! Of course, if you can’t donate, do something for free and share this on social media so others can donate!
