Reclaiming The Flesh: Reframing Pleasure & Power in the Black Kink Experience (in the Black Box) (18 & UP)

This open forum invites participants to explore the intersections of BDSM, kink, and shame within the Black community with their peers. Through candid discussion, we will unpack the ways historical oppression, generational trauma, and cultural narratives around power and control shape our relationships with pleasure, submission, dominance, and consent. Together, we will explore how BDSM and kink can serve as pathways to healing, self-discovery, and reclamation of agency.

Human Centered Digital Privacy & Security (on the Mainstage)

We'll talk about why privacy matters, how to make an individualized threat model to better protect yourself, how to understand common threats, common misconceptions, and technology essentials covering passwords, multifactor authentication, choosing hardware, email security, and using VPNs. We'll close with questions and answers. Additional resources and continuing education materials included.

3:00 PM to 4:15 PM

Radical Rest: Reclaiming Joy & Pleasure as a Form of Resistance Storytelling for the Stage (in the Black Box)

The world is on fire, and LGBTQIA2S+ communities are constantly met with emotional and physical violence. I am a therapist committed to co-creating a space where queer folks can simply exist without fear or pressure to hide who they are. This space aims to create a place of refuge, but to also work towards building a sustainable community that nourishes us, equipping us with the tools to navigate the world with resilience, joy, and authenticity.

Storytelling for the Stage (on the Mainstage)

Participants will learn about crafting and performing solo stories for the stage. Participants will be able to storyboard a full solo performance and then practice sharing a small piece of it as well as be able to give and receive feedback. No preparation required!

4:30 PM to 5:45 PM

Introduction to Film Photography (in the Black Box)

This workshop will provide an overview of 35mm film photography. The workshop will cover the basics: camera function, loading film, aperture, shutter speed and film speed, principles of metering depth of field, and focusing. There will be a portion of the workshop for taking photos and troubleshooting, plus a demo of unloading the film as well. Participants must bring a functional 35mm film camera and a new roll of 35mm film to participate in the photo-taking portion of the workshop.
